Unnecessary mean comments, lots of people (elderly for example) would have no idea the device works, so a suggestion like that is required. Furthermore the laws require for some products to be impossible to assemble if battery is removed

Seems to be a big battery; would guess this is a device not commonly used. Probably you would need some time to figure out that this port is for the battery if there were no information. So I think it is a kind of necessary.
